STJ Field Hockey Program
Through the acquisition of Jackals Field Hockey Club, The St. James now provides a comprehensive developmental field hockey program with a pathway for athletes ages 8-18 to achieve their high school and collegiate goals. Athletes in the Washington, DC Metro area will have access to world-class indoor facilities, exceptional coaching, performance training programs, and a wide range of field hockey camps, clinics, and leagues for all ages and skill levels.

Jackals Field Hockey Teams
Jackals Travel (U12-U19) represents the highest level of play due to a combination of intense training, dedication, and competition. Athletes of all ages can compete alongside the top players in the area. With year-round training and tournament play, Jackals Travel consistently works to develop the elite field hockey player.
- Elite Instruction: training by the area’s most experienced and successful coaches and former players. Focus on technical training, off-ball movement, field sense.
- Fitness: practice sessions with an array of speed, agility and fitness trainers
- Specialized Training: sessions tailored to the development of specific skills and positions, led by specialists including our goalie coaches and experienced guest coaches.
- Competitive Environment: rigorous schedules and elite-level play against the top teams from around the country!
Tryouts
2025-26 Field Hockey Team Tryouts
National Indoor Tournament (NIT): Teams compete to qualify for this prestigious event, with selections occurring in December. Participation provides exposure to the nation’s best teams.
Schedule: 2 practices per week, local play days, and winter tournament participation.
College Recruitment Support: Comprehensive guidance on the recruitment process, including:
- Access to national tournaments and showcases.
- Informational meetings and written materials.
- Nearly 200 players have advanced to collegiate programs across Division I, II, and III.

Field Hockey Summer Camp @ The St. James
The Jackals Field Hockey Camp at The St. James welcomes players of all experience levels to develop and refine their game. Campers will enhance fundamental field hockey skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive techniques under the guidance of Jackals Field Hockey Staff and alumni. Designed to balance learning with fun, this camp offers an engaging environment where athletes can grow their abilities while building confidence and teamwork.

Field Hockey Summer Camp @ Stone Ridge School
Jackals Field Hockey camps are open to players of all abilities. Players will learn and enhance the fundamental skills of field hockey including dribbling, passing & receiving, ball control. shooting, defensive positioning and more. Camps are taught by Jackals Field Hockey Club Staff and Alum. Join us to learn and have fun!

High School Prep Field Hockey Camp @ Stone Ridge School
This camp is designed to give athletes a competitive edge as they prepare for high school field hockey tryouts. Participants will engage in field hockey-specific conditioning and stick work to improve fitness, skill development, and game IQ, ensuring they're ready to impress during tryouts.

School's Out Day Camps
We know how difficult it is to find suitable care for your children on student holidays. The St. James has you covered with our new Ultimate Sports & Adventure Day Camp! A wide range of sports and activities, your child will get to explore lots of new games and adventures. Campers will have the chance to compete in our fieldhouse, try out their skills in our courthouse, and explore their digital and creative side in our Super Awesome & Amazing facility.

Leagues
Field Hockey Summer League
The St. James 2025 Summer Field Hockey League offers a dynamic and competitive environment for youth athletes to enhance their skills and enjoy the game. This league provides players with the opportunity to engage in structured play under the guidance of experienced coaches.
Participants will benefit from a season designed to improve their technical skills, tactical understanding, and overall game performance. The league emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and a passion for the sport, making it an ideal setting for both novice and experienced players.
